I think it may have been mentioned before but in case not I wanted to let you guys know that there is a limo service near the base that is super cheap. My hubby went to A school in GL and he said it was cheaper to get a limo from the base to Chicago, especially if they could get several people together to split the cost. I guess they aren't the super nice limos that you would hire for a special occasion, but are big enough to fit a large group of people. I saw this somewhere on N4M's a few weeks ago, but don't remember where but it must still be in business if someone else mentioned it. Hubby said it was cheaper to take the limo and fly to St. Louis than it was to drive down there.

I hope the time is going by as fast for our SR's as it is starting to for us! I got two letters yesterday and it sounds like they are doing a lot of marching. He said there was a group of people around the area they were marching that were on base for PIR, and they all turned to watch them - he was very proud. I can't wait for that ceremony! He also said he was nervous because they were being tested on their marching and it was the first time he was actually carrying a flag. He said it's easy when you just have a stick, but when you have a flag and there are 500 mph winds it's a little tricky! LOL - he now understands the term Windy City!

Sorry guys, I should have put the link to the news story. I don't watch tv so I thought I was the only one who hadn't heard about it as usual.

Thanks for the explanation about 4-5, I figured it must be something like that but wasn't sure since he left in the middle of August. He previously said that some of the guys made calendars before they told them not to and that he didn't want one to keep track of the time since it goes faster that way so he pretty much has to guess where he is in the process.

Liongirl - I feel the same way, that's why I share the letters. Well, that and since my son doesn't like to write much he writes short and to the point letters that have more to do with what's going on in bc than anything.

I think the RDC's are giving our SR's a hard time. My son wrote that his RDC told them Arnold Schwarzenegger had died of a heart attack, but then later told them it wasn't true.

kind of following... not my sharpest tonight, but yeah, it pretty much makes sense. I didn't see or hear anything either, however I am not a big news person. Usually only watch when DH has it on - he's a big news guy. Me, I think it's mostly depressing and that you can only trust about .0002% of what you hear as actual fact or truth, so...
