He has too soft a heart sometimes - wich is mostly a good thing, but it gets trampled too much for my taste!!! Grr-r-r-r-r-.... sniffle sniffle....

I haven't found any groups on here for moms of AM's :-(( Oh well, once he's on a ship, there will be a group for that I'm sure, and there's one for A-school, and of course, 1st and foremost - there's the best and original PIR date 10-08-10!!! :-))
Texts are getting shorter - for instance, last response was "nm hbu" Seriously dude - 5 letters is all you can muster up for dear ol' mom? (laugh) of course girlfriend is getting paragraphs I am sure! :-) Hope that goes well, it was fairly new before he left for bc, hate to see his heart broken while he's away from home and Dad can't console him (cuz mom isn't allowed that privledge - lol)... she better be ready for one heck of a roller coaster ride, or pull her head out now and realize she's still in high school and her 'love' is not going to be around for dances, etc... ok, just found a new reason to obsess :-)) Please Lord, help me be a supportive *and* realistic MIL(ish)... don't want to drive any wedges in anywhere, but still a mom and still want to protect my boy!

I agree...I find myself talking about you guys like I've know you my entire lifetime! I asked my son to fill in the names and some info (rate, A school, hometown...) on his divisional picture---and give me a copy. I told him he would forget someone at a later date if he didn't do it now. He said these guys had been his family for the last 8 weeks, and that he'd never forget them. awww

ps...I WAS a little jealous of everyone saying they could talk to their sailors right away out of BC. ! I'm all better now. :) Anybody else have a sailor in A school at Fort Leonard Wood in MO ??? go Seabees!

Crackin' me up mom2nw! I have been lucky, got to see him off @ the airport, and have been in contact either talking, text, fb or something every day, so my bird-out-of-the-nest panick & anxiety has really been about non-existant since my mini-break down in GL! :-) I do feel your pain though, know that it will get better - especially once he has his electronics to keep in touch w/ you! Can you imagine the families going through this ordeal 10, 20 + years ago - and actually HAD to wait for snail mail? At least we can count that as a blessing, that we have an easier means of communication with them now!

Well all - seems like we're all kind of settling into a new rythm w/ our Sailors having graduated, and moving onto new things - let's do keep in touch though - I just adore the family connection we've all gotten here!

Love y'all! Ship10mom

My son finally texted with his A school address. (thank you to whomever is at Ft Leonard Wood with a 630phone) He had called from a pay phone at O'Hare last Wednesday waiting for a flight and then a bus ride twice as long as the plane ride. And then nothing...I was kinda going a little nuts; he didn't have his cell or computer, did he get there? who do I call? This letting go and going with the flow is for the birds, my friends.

Judy, prayers for both you and your son, that you both stay strong.

Thanks AdamsDad. I really don't even know what I feel anymore. The 847 area code which used to make me happy now brings a feeling of, uh oh. I really haven't had good news since about the third week in September. I don't really even want the prayer for me, I want it for my son. It took my daughter 6 weeks to recover from pneumonia, and she was the athlete. Really hoping it doesn't take him that long.

Judy, I cannot even imigine what you must be going through. Please know that you are in our prayers.

Melanie my son was in div 331. He will be going to Pensacola for A school. And at this point I have to believe that he did not pass on Friday because up until this point, no news has literally been bad news.
