Thanks Melanie for posting that your son called. Since mine did not I now know he did not pass his run yesterday. For me no news has always been bad news in this BC time. My son is going through BS next Thursday as well regardless though, and will just stick around till he passes his run. I really don't even care about myself anymore, I care about my son.

Ready - time for more prayer!

Father God - we thank you for the opportunity to praise you today. We give you all honor and Glory for what you are doing in our new sailors lives and what you are doing in our lives as well. As each of them are being challenged and growing, we are too. It is clear that our sailors are maturing, facing new obstacles, and overcoming them with great grace. All the while, we as families at home, are also maturing into new stages of life and overcoming obstacles of change with great grace as well. Like our sailors, we know where our strength comes from - and that is from you, through your son Jesus Christ, and the infilling of your Holy Spirit.

Having a glimpse into the lives and character of these new sailors and their families offers incredible hope for who we are as Godly people and who is defending our country. You are clearly in control as these young people have submitted their lives to you and are following your plan for their lives.

Success in You can best be described as "Finding the will of God for you life, and following it." May you make each and everyone of our sailors successful in You! You have equipped them spiritually, these amazing families have equipped them with love and support, and the Navy is equipping them for their role as Sailors in the greatest Navy the world has ever known.

All in all, they are in the greatest sailors in the greatest Navy, from the greatest families, protecting the greatest nation under God!

Help the moms and dads as they struggle with their ever changing role as parents, help the spouses as they are beginning new lives with many huge changes, and help us all to follow after you in all we do.

In Christ Name - Amen

For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands. For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.
2 Timothy 1:6-7

For Melanie - the clock with STAY! We are with you, and praying. It's not over til it's over and we are all here with you.

God is going to use this as something amazing! He wastes no opportunity or obstacle to bring growth and to bring glory to His name.

ship10 - I will def keep you all posted!
khoov00 - Yeah I'm sure whatever we will get will be nice. Apparently they have been building a lot of new homes and renovating others, hoping for a newer one!
dixie7 - That's nice they have a renovated house (duplex)! I'm so excited to go down there, I just hate feeling like I'm going in blind you know? They didn't even take him around to look around, when he got to the housing place they were just like "Ok you qualify for a 2 bedroom, if there is a 3 available we will give you that. They all look the same, we will give you the address on Monday and the keys on Wednesday" Was kinda hoping he could at least look at one first =/

Beth - Are you sure you talked to your son, not mine? B wants his phone asap, will buy a new laptop and wants me to send him his gameboy with pokemon game (the old style not the new ones). Of course the list is a bit longer than that but he primarily wants his phone. I've never had him ask me to get a pen and make a list before. I don't know if that's the Navy influence or if he just really misses his stuff now that he's out of bc.

Melanie - When I talked to my son last night he remembered your son. He said they all felt bad he didn't pass & were doing everything they could to support him in that goal. I thought it would make you feel better to know that he had the support of his shipmates while he was going through this trial. I'll keep him in my prayers.

Jamielyn - I would be willing to bet they do all look the same. I think my mom and dad lived on post (army) when he was in and said they were small but nice little places. They have strict rules so I'm sure they are kept in good shape. I'm so excited for you starting on this adventure.

I got a call from my son last night that he had arrived in Pensacola (he waited a while to call since I think they got there Tues or Wed). He said they took a tour, went through orientation & he had already gotten his room and met his roommate who sounds pretty cool since he let B use his laptop already. I guess they left RTC at around 0030 and traveled all night so he said he was tired by the time they got there. Dang those Navy payphones, I can usually only hear about half of what he says. I can't wait until he gets his phone in the mail. He wanted me to send another care package with homemade goodies again (and his boxers LOL). I guess mom will be cooking this weekend which works out since my other son will be home this weekend as well. He thinks his classification should go through quickly and said that AD's usually go through there pretty quickly according to what he heard. I'm dying to know where he's going to end up after though.

ok - my bad - different base - sorry. I am sure it is much the same though, I have not heard of "bad" base-housing. Hope all is well - you will keep us posted, right?! :-)

jamielynn - Navylodge is across the street from much of the base houseing, and yes, most of it looks very new, and it's like track-housing they all look the same, all look nice, VERY quite neighborhood - hope that helps!
