Hi Jen,

Good to see and hear from you. Yeah kinda weird that we don't all talk as much anymore. The 2 months in boot camp seemed like forever.

My daughter Brittany is an MA now and stationed at a sub base in Georgia. She is right at the I-95 highway so this brings her straight home in Florida, less than a 2 hr drive. We see her every other weekend, she brings home sailors with her too which is neat. Last weekend with her, we had 4 sailors staying with us all weekend, good kids. I talk or text with her daily, but she does not live here anymore and I am actually ok with that. She came home after A school and packed all her stuff and moved to Georgia, she will be at that base 4 years they tell her.

Hope everyone else is well and able to have as much communication with their kids as I have.  Take care and stay in touch.  Cindy

Hello everyone!  I know not much activity on here lately, we've all pretty much joined up w/ our new 'groups' based on where our Sailors are and what they're doing... it would be kind of cool, I think, to get a listing of who's doing what - ya know?

My Sailor is going to Bremerton, WA, done w/ A-school, rate is AM.  Not sure yet if he'll be land-based or on a carrier.

Thanks, Lilly, but I don't feel like a navy mom. I am kinda bitter about the whole thing. The only reason I am here is to try to get info for my son, because he really wants back in a bad way. Hopefully I can get info to help him from some of the other groups, people who have been through it, but mostly everyone just wants to tell me, "oh it will be fine" but with no actual info as to what steps he should take.

Judy, you will ALWAYS be a Navy mom! I pray your son has a quick recovery and will be more than well and prepared to win the battle!

Ladies, I haven't been here in a LONG time but I'm so glad there are still some that are keeping others up to date with everything that's been going on in our lives. My husband (DIV335) graduates from GL in a week and half from Corpsman School; unfortunately, instead of sending him home until he starts his "C" School, they are going to send him to NC work at a Hosp for about 3 weeks until his school "with" the Marines start...I am devastated and so was he; but at least he'll be a little closer to home...It's VERY cold in GL; believe me I know...I fly every 3 weeks to visit him....God bless you all!

Hi, ladies! Haven't been back here for a while, I was on the SWCC group but now my son has decided to pursue other options. He made it through three weeks of the official training and then reached his max; said he was only speeding up the inevitable. So he'll be meeting with someone soon to discuss what other options there are out there for someone whose dream was special warfare.

Judy, I'm sorry your son has had so much to struggle with; hope he's home now or soon and can heal and find what he was meant to do. He is still young!!!

Hope everyone is warm and safe on this icy icky day!

My son was originally supposed to PIR 10/8 with div 331, then moved to PIR date 10/15, then fit div then was injured and just kept going down hill from there. He had completed everything except final PFA and battlestations. Now out because of asthma, which I believe is cold weather induced. Now just waiting on his date to come home. I know he wants to try again in a year, but I know if he does I will be a wreck the whole time wondering when it will all fall to you know what.

hi Judy, so sorry to hear about your son. I think my son was in rtc with your son. hope all turns out well for you. this makes me really sad so I cant imagine how you are feeling. good luck

Comment by Judy Proud Mom on January 14, 2011 at 8:27pm
He got it in writing he can go back in in one year, and should be home next Friday. He will have to do boot camp all over again, which sucks because he really did complete everything except battle stations. But he will be very well prepared for it. It jut makes me so angry that all this happened to him, and I still cringe when I here "no news is good news" because in EVERY SINGLE situation where we expected to hear from him, and did not, it was bad news.
Comment by kellig on January 14, 2011 at 8:08pm
Sorry to hear this.  Good luck with the fight and I hope he wins!
Comment by Judy Proud Mom on January 14, 2011 at 11:04am
I don't think he has asthma, not true year round, he has NEVER needed an inhaler except when he had whooping cough. And he didn't have problems there till the really bad snow hit. He is going to fight and see if hecan stay or at least come back in 6 months.
