As I was putting my husband's letter in the box this morning, the mailman drove up. With my "Operation Stalk-a-box" mindset, I wanted to wait for him to deliver the mail, but we have one of those communal mailboxes that takes at least 15 mins to deliver to everyone in the neighborhood. I thought he might find it creepy if I stand over him and watch him so I reluctantly walked away, but I will be at that box in another 15 mins, lol.

OhioNavyMama, congrats and thanks so much for sharing a piece of your daughter's letter. Any info is great and I'm glad your daughter seems to be doing so well!!

Yea I had given up hope for a letter this week as well....I had figured if they could've written on Sunday we would've gotten letters by Wed. at the latest. So dont give up yet!!

Proud- ((HUGS BACK)) Still praying for you! Hope you get ur letter!! I feel a whole lot better after getting mine. I know you will too!! :)

So glad to know there is hope for a letter today! Unfortunately my mailman doesn't come until almost 4:30 each day! Makes for a very long day here!!

OhioNavyMama- that is wonderful. I had given up hope for this week, but now it's back and can't wait to get home. I hope this connection with her brings you warms fuzzies and peace. I am so glad they have been getting their letters. I have mailed them everyday since the 17th, so mine will have lots to catch up on! Sounds like she is doing great, what a strong woman you have raised! {{HUGS}}

YAY I got my first letter this morning!! Busted out crying as soon as I opened the mail box and saw it on top haha. Katlyn seems to be in really good spirits and she dated the letter the 22nd and said they would get their first letters the following day, so that would've been Monday....she should've had quite the pile of mail haha. She said she has met about 5 girls that she really likes (86 girls total in her div). That makes me feel a lot better knowing that she has a few girls for support there. She said she's an expert shoe shiner and bed maker although folding is not her forte lmao...I could've told her that haha. So all in all im happy today and she said to keep writing alot and she couldn't wait to read all of our letters.

I hope this means that the rest of you will get your letters today or tomorrow. Sounds like they didn't even get mailed until mid week.

Mommyto4boyz- Dress blues start in October and they change back to the whites in April. Its a seasonal thing. I agree...the dress blues are much better looking, especially for the girls haha.

A couple more hints about the meet and greet. The Ramada will host one no matter what. If you decide to have one in another location that is fine but theirs will still go on. The Hot Hors D'oeuvres are free, the drinks are not. You can take your own soda or water in so you won't have to pay for drinks. We took our own drinks in without any problems.

Oh man.. I had a busy day today and just wanted to check this site before I went to bed. Haha... I will have to spend some time catching up after work tomorrow on all the info on ribbons etc. Did not even know I was supposed to look for a letter today, trust me- I have now been through the mail pile. No letter. Good night everyone. Thanks for saring

One more comment about the ribbon color. I think our division should all be the same color - then we can see who is from our sailor's division. Makes it easier.
