Good Morning!
Hello ladies, I have started a discussion above for SEAL/SWCC candidates. I am glad to help answer any questions or concerns you may have at this stage of training and beyond.
Thank you FTLW
Ladies (and gents if we have any!) I invite you to start your divisional discussions up above like ShornL has for 11/062. Just one per division please.
This is a great way to connect up even further with the moms in your individual divisions.
BUT remember to stay on the main page here of the PIR group. This is where your veterans stay the most! We have seven PIR groups running at a time and it keeps us busy. We do all check into the divisional discussion from time to time though! Plus, you will still want to bond with your whole Training Group!
Added link for RTC Website up above below the Weather Widget. This site is for the families and recruits with lots of info put out by Recruit Training Command.
Also added links for the two Meet and Greets, you can RSVP to the events. The M & G are for ALL the families of the new Sailors of your PIR group. (Your new Sailors do not attend these though)
Here is info about them in a nutshell...click the links for further details:
Here's a quick rundown of both Meet and Greets:
Sarge:
5-10 pm at the Sundance Saloon.
FREE transportation from Springhill Suites, Marriot Courtyard, Holiday Inn Express, Residence Inn, Candlewood Suites and Crossland. All other local hotels for a modest fee.
Guest Speaker from the Base to provide info on where to eat, things to do, how to save $$.
FREE food starting at 7 PM….they also have a menu if you want to order something.
Sarge has lived in the area for over 30 years and knows it well.
Sarge has arranged with his friend Nick at Trattoria-Pomigliano in Libertyville for a FREE meal – ANYTHING they want – for your Sailor.
There is a DJ.
Plus, Sarge goes above and beyond the “call of duty” to help Sailors and their families. (He is the “go to” guy for Taxi (shuttle) service. Prices are great and again does more than he has too!)
Ramada:
6-8 pm at the Ramada.
Finger foods – Chips and salsa, veggies and dip, egg rolls, meatballs, maybe another and it could change. (This is what they had when I went. Sarge was not doing a Meet and Greet then)
Bar – or you can bring in your own soft drink or water. Those staying at the Ramada get a voucher for to free drinks.
Hostess provides a name tag and will come in and greet everyone and ask if anyone would like to speak.
BOTH events are open to everyone. There will be people there that know nothing about N4M’s. Invite them!
Thanks eliza383 (I spelled it right this time!). You are welcome to stay here if you like!
Thanks FireTeamLeaderWife, He arrived the night of the 12th, called around 9 or 10pm. I did get 'the box' but no letter yet. I'll go back the boot camp moms forum and I'll let you know the PIR date when I get a letter. Good luck to all 12/10 PIR'ers!
elize383 - Yes, you'll be in the next PIR group...when did your recruit arrive at BC? Have you received your box yet? Also, when you get your form letter would you let us know the date for PIR? Maybe you would be interested in heading up the PIR group for that date?!
(I know it doesn't totally matter as recruits can arrive the same day and be in completely different PIR groups...and that they can get shuffled around quite a bit...plus December BC is different as they stop sending recruits on the 16th and that they have sent EXTRA -those that were slated to arrive between the 19th and the 30th. It's a curiosity thing for me as I learn..my first year "going through" BC...LOL. They may have longer "P" days...may not. )
Just got my letter from my son Saturday he is in Ship 07 Div 63 cried hard first time to hear from him other than that 20 second phone call on the 8th. I know they are all going to do well looks like a large class 10 divisions on the 2/10/12. Definately going to book hotel asap! Any suggestions I see there is a Navy Lodge has anyone heard news about this one? Relieved MOM :)
Yup, saved it in my favorites for quick reference.
https://www.navy-lodge.com/contact.html We're driving so this will work well for us.
FireTeamLeaderWife: Thank you for all of the links, they will be very helpful for all of us!
