Hoping that the divisions for this group will be posted on the RTC site today. You will get to see how large your group is!  Small is usually around 4-7 divisions; average is 8-10; and large is 11-13 divisions.  No matter how large your group is, there usually will be room in the PIR hall for "extras" so please bring them!  The Navy will only guarantee 4 guests per sailor (your SR fills in these names), but with proper ID, most extras will eventually get into the hall.

Welcome to all of the new members here!

Just to let you know...the SRs are usually not allowed to write for the first two weeks.  They also are not allowed to receive the mail you send until that time either.  They are training the Recruit Mail Petty Officer, who handles the mail for their division.  Many times, you will get your first letter from them asking why you haven't written?  Just know that is because your mail is being held there and will be delivered to them all at once...they love that!  The first day they are normally allowed to write/receive "held" mail is usually a Sunday.  Their letters are then mailed out on Monday.

So--- patience!  Also, for those who got a mailing address from your SR's recruiter, please doublecheck it with the form letter address...sometimes there are differences.  The form letter one is the correct one.  We N4Moms veterans suggest that you write your letters, but hold them until the form letter address arrives...then mail all at once.  Remember...they won't get the mail for 2 weeks anyway.

There are several of us N4Moms veterans on here, so please ask any questions you have.  Also, I highly recommend that you all go through the discussions above that FireTeamLeadersWife posted.  Great info there.  I am going to add a BattleStations discussion up there now...this will be their final test and then they are sailors!

So if you have questions, please read through the discussions.  If your questions are not answered there, please post here and one of us will post soon!  FTLW, Lala, Betsy, Jessica, Sandy, or me.  We are here for you all!  Been there, done that...and hope we can help!

Good morning, all!

DarcieR, my son is also in Ship 11 Div 62. I received the form letter on Friday the 16th. Didn't get phone call today either. Happy for those who received a call today. Hopefully we will all hear from them sometime next week.

I haven't gotten mail from my SR yet and he left the 5th of dec.. so it may be 1-2 more weeks before you hear anything.

Hi everyone! I'm new to the site. I'm a different kind of user because my boyfriend is in boot camp right now. He left December 12 and I'm still waiting to hear from him :( I just glanced through some of the comments and realized that many of you know your sailor's ship and division so I just texted his mom to see if she got mail from him. (she works long hours and is probably sleep by now) but hopefully she did! I'm just so anxious to get more info.

He is ship 11 Div061. Was anyone else from this group who heard from their SR today?

Momofson - Glad to hear that you didn't miss it and you got to speak to your son. That is great. :) Just curious...is he in Ship 11 Div 068?

Comment by FireTeamLeaderWife aka FTLW on December 18, 2011 at 9:45pm
All the calls today...are you all from the same division?
Comment by momofson on December 18, 2011 at 9:40pm
