Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

If it is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture.

If you had a large order or have a PO Box be sure and look for notifications that you have a package. Some of these are too big to fit in a regular size mail box and I don't want you to think it is lost. If you have not received your order by Monday please let me know and I will check the tracking and see if it was delivered. Thanks again for all the orders, now I gotta get back to work lol. I am gonna really need a good massage :-)

But when they have that many Sailors (over 170) all going to the same base it is just a lot more economical for them to charter a jet. I have only seen it happen 2 times since my daughter had PIR in July 2010.

gcnavymom just wait until you see those ribbons in person. They are some of the prettiest ones I have ever made. But then again they all look so much better in person :-) There were a whole bunch of packages shipped today :-)
