Yea! I am so looking forward to my ribbon! :)
Have a good evening Lala!
Sorry I was MIA today everyone, but I was working on Ribbons and scarves for this group ALL day and as soon as I finish dinner I will be back at it lol. I hope everyone is having a good Monday :-)
I was gone all day yesterday (some much needed Family time) and am catching up.
You know...FB RTC has to allow last names as that's what FB wants. You can't use a fake name on there...eventually they will figure it out and lock you out (from what I have read about their rules...one reason why I am not on FB...yet). RTC personnel monitor it...and we are self monitored.
I think the RTC person over there does a great job within the parameters that they are allowed. I search over there sometimes for answers to info that we need clarified here...I think we have some better "personal" tips...and I really like the cohesiveness of our PIR groups. Plus, this site carries on further into your Sailors career. Many join or form new groups for this. Some find it a wonderful way to "give back"...plus we have Molly's Adopt-a-Sailor...regional groups for moms to get together in their area, Ship groups, rating groups, etc. A LOT of the moms that start out here on the PIR groups "know" each other over on those groups!
I know FB has stuff too. I think I am a one stop shopper...got it all here!
Some do not like the "no last name" thing and not divulging future info...too bad...that is OPSEC, bottom line! It's friggin' important.
Yes, thanks for the reminder, Roxiegirl. Remember, ladies, we can no longer post BattleStations dates on the pages here. You can private message them to each other. Please be sure to send it to me also as I'm keeping a schedule. You can send the info in a friend request. Thanks!
Good Morning all!
Please remember not to use specific dates on this wall.
I just saw that post as well and I am very happy to see them support this site. On the RTC facebook page you can't post anything about N4M's on their wall or they will delete it. The say they don't allow the promotion of any other sites or businesses just because they say Navy in the name :-/ You can however post comments on the forum discussions on that page and spread the word about N4M's the division T-shirts or any other items :-) Some have been posting about my ribbons and scarves on there and then I have been inviting them to Navy for Moms :-)
If anyone finds out about 02/912, please post!!! I am thinking Feb 1 and Feb 2, but have no clue. My SR had said it would be the week of PIR, but no date was given. Would just love to know, when to be waiting for that phone call!!!
I'm hoping to start a BattleStations schedule for this group. If you have received a date for your SR's division, please message or friend request it to me.
lorimc: I actually think your husband's division will be going during PIR week. They go in numerical order. His PIR group WILL start them next week (not this week). But his division will not be the first to go. There actually is some rhyme and reason to the order they go in for BattleStations!
Thanks!
Also--everyone, if you haven't read through the Battlestations discussion above, please do. Lots of info in there.
when do we actually get the "I am a sailor" call?
Oh, ok. Saw the more recent one posting this site and didn't scroll futher. This was posted by Navy, but not RTC FB. Hoping that maybe they have changed their policy on recommending us! Yes, RTC is part of the Navy, of course, but they are the ones who have been deleting it. Hoping that since the US NAVY posted it, it will stay. That would be wonderful!
Thanks for pointing that out!
