Nope. It wasn't the RTC site. Was the other one that navybootcampunite or something like that. The group specifically for the PIR of 2-10-12. I wasn't out of line, but I did voice my opinion, GOD FORBID.
I just wanted to say a huge Thanks to whoever deleted me from the facebook group!! Was so very nice of you!! I am pretty sure I could have handled it myself this early morning, but nope. Someone just couldn't wait to get me off of there. Surprised I haven't been kicked outta here as well. Wanna give props to those who faked being my friend. What a world we live in. Find out who your real friends are when your having it rough. How sweet some are?? I'm pretty sure it was the wonderful adminisTRATOR of the fb page. But who knows??? Oh well. Like I said, you find out quickly who are the real friends!!
Shay: I'm really surprised that the person with the sign got by the people at the door. They do not allow those in the hall. Maybe they had it folded up and under clothes, but that was quite rude that she did that. I'm so so sorry. We do mention on here, when someone asks, that signs are not allowed. We advise all to make the signs if they like and put them in the hotel room.
Good morning all.
rivermom...I want to say it is in the old Family Guide...but don't qoute me on that!...I could have sworn I saw it somewhere "officially". I am of course going to look!LOL
We always address it when someone asks...but now I will make sure to rememebr to add it. I hope it was NOT a N4M member! LOL So sorry that happened to you Shay...I wish people would think...not only is it discourteous...it's not a sporting event...sheesh!
I saw that sign when I came in the door and thought "Wow, nothing was mentioned about that." I think it would be a good idea to include that somewhere in the PIR discussions and discourage it as a courtesy to other families. Come to think of it, maybe the Navy should make an announcement beforehand to the whole audience.
Our group sat in the balcony and the SR's were excellent about telling people to move away from the railing (even for photo taking) so that others could see. Everyone was cooperative and everyone was able to see their SR.
So sorry you missed seeing your SR marching in!
Unfortunate that someone brought a large yellow sign to graduation. This was lifted up just as my sailor marched by with his division. Missed seeing him march by, completely. I drove 13 hours to see him, ugh. Very unfortunate that people can be so inconsiderate of others. Overall, incredibly wonderful experience, except for the sign incident.
So sorry for the fainting sailor...who hit hard...wow...so glad that she is ok. My son had told me that they are told to "catch" their shipmates if they see them wobbling...but sometimes there is just not enough time. I'm sure there were some scary moments for her family members when that happened...every PIR has a few fainters...and the "body snatchers" are constantly walking through the ranks to check on them...whispering in the ears of some "are you ok?" But they can't always be there for all of them.
GoatLady: Be sure to drop into the other PIR groups and post this. Those ladies, out of contact with their SRs, will be encouraged to read this! It is true..."A" School is a whole different "ball game".
Too funny, rivermom! HA! I was thinking "head" of a costume or something when I first read that! HA! Don't you just LOVE the manners? Why is it that we can work our whole lives teaching them manners, and in just a few short weeks, the Navy does it so beautifully? We all needed the Navy in our homes when our kids were growing up... :-)
I am loving A School! Since he has been down in Florida, we have talked several times. This is GREAT!! So much better than Boot Camp and living for Wednesdays and Thursdays for a letter to come in. It is not the same as seeing him, but it is so good hearing his voice!
This past weekend was so amazing - went by way too fast! Talk about a whirlwind experience!! Congratulations to all our new sailors!!
