NJBlasian:  Those links for NavyMoms and NavyDads were not posted by RTC FB but an individual---I just checked them.  RTC personnel is usually not on the site over the weekends, so that is why they haven't been deleted, is my guess.  Maybe that is a good time to post links to N4Moms? Over the weekend when the site isn't monitored?  Hopefully enough will see them then before they are deleted.  Unless RTC has stopped deleting them.  But not long ago, someone said that they had deleted references to our group.

We love helping you all here and our ranks are growing!  So glad that we have a couple of more recent N4Moms veterans who have "stepped up" and want to help on the PIR sites.  HOOYAH!

I was wondering about that whole disclosure thing on FB, I just joined the group on there, but I don't think I will post anything.  I definitely don't want to do anything wrong or even worse cause my daughter any trouble.  This site is amazing and I don't know if I would have made it this far without all of you to talk to.

Ooohhh, I see. :)

Well, they cannot "approve" any other sites for Navy info.  Although the Navy started N4Moms, they don't regulate it (but there are administrators who do).  So that is the reason they give for not allowing people to post on RTC FB to send people our way.  Sometimes I think it turns into a competition between the 2 sites to see who gives the quickest and most accurate info!  :-)

Aw, how come they delete posts for n4m? :O

Comment by diannep on January 22, 2012 at 2:08pm

AMEN, Lala.  Totally agree.  I am on FB (but don't post on RTC) and feel the same way you do.  Seems a bit crazy.  I see alot of the same questions being asked on there that are being asked here.  Sometimes I cringe when I see the answers because usually there is so much more info offered on this site.  But of course, if we post on there and refer people over to N4Moms, RTC deletes the posts.  So other than individuals on there directing them over here, it is hard to steer them this way.

The private facebook pages can be great but usually don't have anyone to direct your questions to so be sure to tell everyone about this page and check here for posts and comments that may be helpful to you. The regular RTC facebook page can be very informative and they allow you to use first and last names and people are a lot more open on that page. Something you should think about though, On this site we limit what can be said so that you get used to and start practicing OPSEC rules but it is more than that. We also do it to protect your recruit. The RDC's who choose to look at the pages on this site can and do also look at the facebook page as well. And, since real names are used there it is a lot easier for them to know who you are and who your recruit is. I have a hard time understanding why they are not more discrete on that page especially since it is a open public page and anyone can read everything on there. I have found a lot of lasting friendships on this site and adding more all the time. I love being able to go to different groups when I have questions regarding my Sailor and finding the answers to those questions. Bootcamp is only 8 weeks long and there is so much more to learn about what happens after boot camp and this site provides that :-)

brandon's girl.  Remember, the N4Moms site is wonderful for when you have an SR and also when your sailor is deployed.  Lots of support here.  No one said it was easy being family to a sailor! or any military personnel for that matter!  But we are so strong!  However, we all need support...and this group is the best.  I found support not only when mine was at bc, but have found great support since then.  I ask any questions I have on the groups I belong to and always get answers from those helpful ladies!  Hang in there...it is so important for the SRs/sailors to know that we are 100 percent behind them and willing to make sacrifices as they are doing!  But it is sure hard!  :-)

Good morning, all!
