Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

If it is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture.

That was the other thing we were kind of taking a poll on. The Great Lakes "A" scool Sailors...once they process in over there on PIR day are now "detached" from RTC and at their new Command...the rest are still "attached" to RTC...so just curious. (At least that is the way I understand it as far as commands go! LOL I am sure I will find out if I am wrong!)

Thanks folks! I know some of you are finishing visits and some home and some on their way...safe travels to all and very happy for you all for getting to see your new Sailors!

My Sailor son made me so proud this weekend in achieving the Military Excellence Award! I also was overwlemed from the emotion of seeing our newly appointed Sailors and their families come together for such an emotional event. WHAT A WEEKEND WHOOHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!

My SON/SAILOR made me so proud, it felt like a wedding as though I just gave him away. But I know he will be safe in the Navy family for sure as will the rest of our loved ones!!!!!

Got to go on base and board his ship to sign him out Saturday and Sunday. What a treat! We even got to eat at the McDonald's on base with him last night. We are off to Gurnee Mills Mall today. Thanks veteran moms for all your support. Love our Navy family.

We tell them that they can have these things when staying in GL for A School...just can't wear them yet. Same with those flying out, but the "pass off" for those sailors has to be at the airport since they can't be taken back to RTC.

So glad all had such a great time!
