No grad letter yet but fingers are crossed still.. he made it sound like it was sent out his first week there though.. So no idea where it ended up at!

I finally got a letter from my hubby..! He is the guy giving out mail to his division, he said it made him suddenly popular, he is eating it right up.. And that I get to move with him for school. I am so excited!!!

lovestocrochet:  If it makes you feel better, many do get leave at Christmas or New Years once sailors---like Lala said.  Mine has been home the past 2 years.  He got Christmas week last year so I thought this year, he would have to take New Years week, but he didn't.  No guarantees...but even if still in school, many get leave then if they want to take it.  If they are finished school and deployed, then of course it wouldn't work.  But try to be optimistic and pray hard!

lovestocrochet- a lot of the Sailors get to come home for Christmas. If they are based stateside and are not deployed. Most of the bases are on Stand-down for the holidays and they can usually take leave for the two weeks prior to Christmas or the 2 weeks after. I have lots of friends on this site who have their Sailors home with them now, some for the first time since boot camp and several others like me who will have a Sailors home a few days after Christmas. So hopefully next year you will have your Sailor home with you :-)

I don't see how my son would be home next Christmas...I don't understand how he would get leave or whatever...I hope he will though.  I still feel in denial quite often, like he's going to come home and this will just be a dream.  I do hope he's happy with his decision though and that he will be successful at it.

Comment by lovestocrochet on December 23, 2011 at 11:07am

Why am I so sad? I have plenty to be grateful for...husband, kids, home.  I just can't get excited about Christmas.  I don't have any ambition to make stuff like cookies, food, etc. like I usually do. I just feel lazy....ugggh I hate feeling this way..  I know, shame on me!

Comment by DarcieR (Ship 11 Div 62) on December 23, 2011 at 10:44am

Me too.... I tried calling/email RTC and they said once it is sent out nothing they can do.. I just got back to the post office.. had the supervisor there talk to my mail man and he hasn't seen anything.. I just don't know what to do now other than wait.
