Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Awesome - what do you mean about the Bad Dogs - is this a division thing?

Comment by SOBE,PIR 6/4/10 IT Mom, Italy on August 26, 2010 at 8:50pm: I'm out of here for the next couple of hours. My hubby signed me up to bowl with him on his Thursday night league. That man will do anything to get me off of this computer!! (think he's a bit jealous!)

Oh...... one more thing. I got to "skype" with all the ladies in PIR 8/27 who are at their Meet & Greet tonight!!! Their sailors graduate tomorrow. It was a ton of fun. Wish I had thought of doing that with earlier PIR groups. Skype is a free program, you just need a webcam and microphone.

The hardest part to day was being the only one home with hubby working a long shift. made for a pretty sad pity party after the mail came.But all will be better tomorrow

I also asked my daughter if there was anyone not getting mail so we could write to them as well. It would break my heart to think that their are some who don't have anyone who care enough to encourage and support them in what is a very positive step in their young lives.
