Has you heard about spice? Most people don't know what it is. It is a synthetic marijuana that is sold as an incense but is being smoked because it is supposed to mimic the effects of marijuana. It is addictive and deadly. My son, Adam passed away on June 20th, 2012 because he had been smoking it.
The Navy knows that this is a problem sailors are dealing with. The made two videos. One is about spice and the other is about bath salts. Bath salts and spice have very…

Finally the form letter has arrived:):):)
A txt from my husband came to me at work last night that stated " he has sent a letter" :):) I could not get home quick enough to open it. With hopes that something would be written in it from him, I opened it in record speed. It had no written message but it did have all of the information I have been waiting on so I was completely happy with that. His handwriting , which is normally not that well, was very nicely written in all CAPS and in…

My son left Friday for basic training and I received my "I am here!" phone call a few hours later. I wanted to ask him a million questions, but he said he needed to go and even though I understood, I felt like I was letting him go all over again. I have been crying on and off since I left MEPS on Friday. Does this get easier??? I am sure I will feel better when I receive his first letter and again when I get to hear his voice again when he calls in 3 or so weeks, as he told me over the…

I received a letter from my daughter and her tone was so positive!! I love to hear her being so happy. It sounds like she is getting the groove of how things work and she loves it. She said she is part of the choir too. I am so blessed!!
Our daughter finally sent the first letter. She went to basic training on March 27. Although we have received 2 phones calls, the first was 10 seconds and the second one was 2 minutes, we still hadnt received her address. We finally have it. For anyone else whose son or daughter went on March 27 and has a child on ship 03 division 201, I would love to chat with you because that is where our daughter is. She has already been made Master at Arms, which I understand is a huge accompolishment.…

Well, we have had another first this past week.
I was admitted into the hospital on Friday night and ended up having a heart cath on Monday afternoon. My Nuke, although he was on special liberty, was not allowed to leave the area to come home and be with us during this time. I took it all very well, knowing that it is all a…

I'm new to this site and hoping to hear back from other mom's that have daughters in the Navy. Mine left for bootcamp just today. I have so many emotions and so many questions. What is bootcamp going to be like for her? Is it 24/7? Will she be ok? Will she be safe? Would love to hear feedback....

I was told that when we go to the graudation we should sit in the color of the ship our SR is in..so my question is how do we find out what that color is? I looked at the chart of the training center and see color coded buildings...is this the ship color I look for?? Just want to be in the best area to see my baby...I mean Sailor.. anxious Mom.

yesterday, as i had to leave early for work, i should home late last night to find the fed ex missed label strapped to my door. I am hoping that it will get here before I leave today. If not, I have signed to have it left for me . I am also hoping that soon the "form letter" will get here so that I can send all of the letters I have wrote thus far. It has been stressful just with the thoughts of not knowing and not being able to contact him but I am still overwhelmed with pride, and knowig…
